Proposal, a "Council of Untergangers"

Ok I'm bored at college been working, but I have some good ideas.

 

I've just been thinking, quite clearly this website is pretty much the capital of the Unterganger world and without argument HRP has become the leader of all untergangers

 

How about we create a "Council of Untergangers"? Under HRP's leadership as "the fuhrer", the council could propose new parody ideas, additions to the site, new ideas to promote untergangerism but most importantly to support HRP's in his position and take some of the burden off his hands. I imagine you're a very busy guy HRP and if we could support you in fulfilling your wishes I think things could take off even further here.

I once had a similar “Unterganger Council” proposal of my own, although it was never mentioned to the wider community.

 

I have no idea if it can be made to work, as I’m sure there are those who would oppose a HRP lead "Council of Untergangers".

 

I await other's opinions on this proposal.

I'd be interested in seeing what their objections would be.

 

For me, I feel your contribution, effort and organisation gives you a lot of credibility. So many parodies, constructed a forum (which by default you are the boss of anyway), etc

 

Maybe, there could be elections or something if people wouldn't feel comfortable with it any other way?

I think attempting to assign any one person as "leader" of the community will always cause problems in some ways. As a community of individuals all making parodies in our own ways off our own ideas, it would be a difficult sell to put anyone in an "elevated" position officially on the whole community. Beyond the obvious admin/moderators of a particular area (forum/chat/wiki) that are necessary. 

I think we all need to support the forum, we all have ideas so we should all contribute. I'm not sure there needs to be an elected "council of Untergangers" for coming up with new ideas, rather more contributions from all of us.

I highly agree with Hansi. I'd like to dispute your statement about this website being the center of unterganging and HRP as "leader". You have clearly not seen the other sides of the community, there is more to unterganging than this. While HRP is one of the most well known, this does not make him a "leader" and I think I recall even himself saying so; appointing anyone as "leader" causes nothing but problems. It is best to let the community be free to make their own decisions. Sure, this site represents a part of the community but I think what happens here should not be forced upon untergangers. As Hansi had said, contributions should drive the community, not a "council".

He may have done a lot but putting all power at the hands of a single person (or a group, for that matter) will cause nothing but problems. The community is larger and differ in opinion more than you think.

Plus, altough the DPF is seeing less use, it still is relevant, as the PoTM and the UA take place there.

The unterganger wiki literally has it stated that he is "the leader of the unterganger world", obviously that is just someone's misleading opinion. But I did write the article and presume he may have wrote it? or that it was wrote as a defacto consensus from untergangers that such was so?

Him being a "leader" is highly subjective, some may see him as one while most of the community believe there is no such thing as "leader". Anyway, out of curiosity, what is this "unterganger wiki" you speak of?

I'm also quite curious to see this unterganger wiki, since there is already a Hitler Parody Wikia, which is full of articles describing all aspects of the unterganger community.

I'm only the leader of my own channel and all that goes with it, FB group, page, forums, ect, which is enough for me to run.

Personally, I think the community works fine the way it does. There's more of a seniority system; those with more experience gain more prestige, and thus carry more weight behind their opinions. It's very informal, but it works fairly efficiently and needs no improvement.
