The Last Airbender / Legend Of Korra is American and can't really be seen as an anime, despite it's heavy influence. 'Anime' is a Japanese word to describe animated stuff, which in the western world is normally dubbed as 'Japanese animation'. It is simply a rule: anything not from Japan has to be named a 'cartoon'. I am myself a huge fan of the show though and follow it quite closely.1 point
