and that the invasion is starting without him. A tolhurst parody. Hitler has overslept again and no-one dares do anything until he is awake. The Normandy Landings of 6 June 1944 have begun with a wave of expat Brits complaining about immigrants who don't speak the language, and it's getting hard to find anyone who even speaks English nowadays. As they check into local hospitals, the Brits will exchange stories of EU health tourism and how those people have been coming over here without paying their taxes as they pay cash for an extension to avoid those stupid meddling foreign rules. Hitler asks Koller whether the Luftwaffle has driven the invaders back into the sea but it transpires that Ging has done a deal with Eisenhower under which the Stukas do not attack in return for the opening of McDonalds all over France. Krebs tells Hitler that 70 years later Germany will again rule the French economy.

There is no McDonalds at Arromanches but there is at the Brittany Ferries port of Ouistreham (Caen) and at Bayeux, the first French town to be liberated and visited by General de Gaulle.

It is now 70 years since D-Day. Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_Day "Allied infantry and armoured divisions began landing on the coast of France starting at 06:30. The target 50-mile (80 km) stretch of the Normandy coast was divided into five sectors: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword Beach."
